NE1 Garden Projects - Day One

Posted by Stephen Light on 25 Jul 2006 in the small hours

Daily reports from Stephen Light and the NE1 team.

Industrial strimmingJust as we had finished our prayer time together before everyone arrived we got a telephone call from NE1 to say; "err .. we've lost your team...they got on the wrong bus and are heading to Newcastle..." Hmm No problem. With Ronnie's team, and ours we got started on two jungles that were Lynda's and Rosemary's gardens and waited for reinforcements. Paul, Matt and Becca got to grips with industrial strength strimmers (blades instead of plastic string!) and soon cut a path through. In Rosemary's garden we even found a pond that had been hidden for years. In the pond was a frog whom William, Rosemary's son, named Pete after our own Mr Mitchell. It was a great day and after 1 1/2 hours on the bus the NE1 gang were eager to get on with the work. Before and afterIt was a fantastic day amd made a real difference to William, Rosemary; who now have a pet to look after and to Lynda who can now sit in the garden with her children.
