The internship was amazing! I learnt such a lot about God and my relationship with him. I leapt/was pushed out of my comfort zone, developed skills, discovered new gifts, made fantastic friendships and grew massively both personally and spiritually. I felt supported 100% throughout the internship and am convinced that it was the best thing I could have done with the year. I feel really blessed to have had such an opportunity to learn, serve and grow at King's.

Doing the internship @ Kings is a privilege, and we know that to those who much is given, much more will be required. One person really emphasized this when he pointed out to us that as interns, we had more theological, biblical, leadership and spiritual input than many church leaders in poor or persecuted countries will ever have.

And so I hope that I can look back on my life in 10, 20, 50 years time and see how doing a leadership and discipleship course at the start of my adult life really grounded me as a Christian, gave me a heart for mission and taught me about the responsibility that we who are blessed so much have to not be passive Christians - but Radical Disciples of Jesus.

I feel that the internship has broadened my horizons: both in terms of what is possible with prayer and the Holy Spirit, but also in terms of who I could be and what I could do with my life: what God can use jars of clay for. Apparently, he can do absolute miracles with us!  If only we let him.

The internship was a chance for me to plunge into the depths of the goodness of God, whilst being supported by and working alongside so many God-fearing people.  I grew in confidence and experience throughout the year in a variety of ways of serving, and enjoyed the priviledge of working for a church. I was often encouraged to examine myself closely, and through that and prayer, I have changed for the better!

The old saying goes “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today.  Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”. The internship taught me to fish. It gave me experiences and training that go beyond just ‘spending a year doing something different’ or ‘giving something back’ or ‘being challenged’. They continue to influence and enrich my life. Learning to ‘fish’ can be a challenge and it is a little different but mostly it leads to a way of living that continues to give.

The King's Internship stretched me in all directions! It is an unequalled opportunity to have new experiences of mission, outreach, theology, and serving the church - I found that God could use me in ways I had never imagined, many of them for the very first time. I would thoroughly recommend the King's Internship to anyone who is considering any kind of involvement in church life.
