The King's Training Team is one of the most qualified and experienced groups of in-house trainers in any local Church in the country.
Mark Bonnington studied both Maths and Theology before writing his PhD thesis on Galatians. He taught New Testament for 12 years at St John's College, Durham University where he holds a Fellowship. He combines leading Kings with teaching part-time at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in Durham, Leeds and Nottingham. He has a passion for combining serious study of the Bible and theology with preaching and down-to-earth engagement in the life and mission of the church. Mark teaches New Testament on the Internship Programme.
Melody Briggs has an MA in Theology and taught and trained people for mission at All Nations Christian College before she moved to Durham. She is writing her PhD on children's understanding of Bible stories. She organises the second year of the Internship programme and teaches mission, church history and historical theology.
Ruth Perrin studied history, was a teacher and worked with both YWAM and UCCF before running an cross-denominational internship programme in Leeds. She took an MA in Theology and Ministry and is now writing her Durham PhD on faith development in young adults. Ruth teaches pastoral studies, leadership and ethics and oversees the formational and personal development aspects of the Internship programme.
