Summer is coming
The interns have now all safely returned to Durham after the mission trip to France and a break over Easter. The new term is now well underway, and as we return to action with renewed bounce, the students approach exams looking a bit wearier than they might have last term. We are trying our best not to be too smug with our lack of exams! Study Space is up and running – with shiny new menu options and lots of students hard at work. BBQ pulled pork panini, anyone? It’s been great to see a healthy atmosphere of study and fun develop, as students seek to live life in all its fullness during exam season.
We kicked off the term last week with Student Gathering, where Tom Judge spoke on how to rest in God’s presence with some practical advice on tackling this term: ‘If you want to rest you've got to stop working’. In Equip we have just started a series on ‘Encountering the Holy Spirit’. We had a great time on Thursday night eating together, praying for each other and inviting the Holy Spirit to move. We are expectant that as we learn more about who the Spirit is and seek to encounter Him more, exciting things will happen.
Preparations for June Project are also hotting up, with banners being extracted from the depths of the Appleby store cupboard, session planning, flyer designing and t-shirt ordering.
This week we’ve also had our first ‘last’ of the internship - our final teaching session with Ruth Perrin has now come and gone. Ruth’s teaching this year has been absolutely fantastic, and we are so grateful – thank you Ruth!
Please do continue to pray:
- For the students with exams, and for study space to be filled with God’s peace.
- June Project preparations.
- For us as we approach the end of the internship.
