Chislehurst Mission
September 2006, with Ichthus Chislehurst
In September 2006, the Interns went down to Chislehurst in South London for a mission with the Ichthus church there. This is one Intern's reflections on the week.
Being completely out of our comfort zones, we were thrown onto God for guidance, help, wisdom, words and everything! I found it pretty unnatural at first to pray as much as we did about everything but actually it’s just what we’re called to do, and it was really releasing and exciting. And through the times of intercession, whether a silent ‘help!’ while talking to someone on the street over a coffee, or interceding together for the Alpha supper, God opened doors for the gospel. Wow! We saw God at work in us, through us and in others, he grew our expectations and horizons, and that is something that will continue both in Chislehurst and here in Durham.
